about

The Future is Golden.

Seems everyday we’re bombarded with empty condolences
“We’re all in this together”
“We’ll get through this”
“In these strange times, we’re here for you”

Who are they?

Is it really the end?
Did no one see it coming?

In the Age of Information, so many of us turned a blind eye, seemingly willingly ignorant. Many warned us about this for years. Now pseudo science and disconnection are poisoning millions of perhaps otherwise perfectly healthy and curious minds.

That being said... let’s raise a toast.

To the new Dark Age.

(Fuck you, actually.)

She couldn’t remember the last time she’d set foot one of these places

She thought it might offer sanctuary
The way a church might for some

Lately it was hard to tell what was information or what was some sort of mind numbing distraction

Here, once you’re in the pages, there’s a commitment and an escape.

There’s the smell too. She quite liked that.

There’s certainly no ads
Or so she thought

There was something missing
Quite a few of them
Some of her favourites too
Whole aisles appeared to be missing
The biology aisle was skint
World history looked like it’d been ransacked
Almost none of the great works of fiction remained

There were plenty of tablet stations where you could read on a screen and have internet access. She wasn’t here for that.

She searched the database, maybe they had the one she was looking for?

That’s when they showed up
“Security?” She asked
They didn’t answer...

This album was recorded remotely in March and April of the Year Two Thousand and Twenty.
